From the time of being a very young child, most of us have picked up and wondered about rocks. We have put rocks in our pockets, brought them home, wondered about what they are made of, and then often, made them our own. The human fascination with rocks is one we celebrate here at LC Bates with collec-tions and programs! Come explore rocks, make a small collection to bring home, try opening a geode, looking under a backlight, and gazing through fiber optics!

Museum admission of $1 for youth under 18 and $3 for adults, unless noted otherwise.

Our sun scope will be open on sunny days Wednesday– Friday from 1-3pm! Please call ahead if you have a larg-er group so we make sure to set up for you. When is the last time you gazed safely at the surface of your home star? Come check it out!
