Melody was trained as a domestic violence advocate in 1989 and has worked with or on behalf of survivors ever since. At Family Violence Project she is an advocate, was a program director and supervised program personnel before a promotion into the position of Executive Director in 2014. She is active on the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence Program Standards Committee, the Maine Commission on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, and the Maine Continuum of Care.
