Raffle Quilt 2016 – “Forever Flowers”
“Forever Flowers” (90 x 90) is the Flower Box pattern from designer Edyta Sitar of Laundry Baskets Quilts. It was pieced from a combination of her fabric lines Hearts Content and Paintbox as well as many reproductions. The intent was to be scrappy yet elegant. The pieced half lone star blocks attached to baskets are meant to represent flowers. The background is cotton from one of her previous lines. Each side border is machine appliquéd with batik silhouettes from Edyta as well. The blend of batiks and reproductions has produced a spectacular quilt sure to add beauty to any decor. The quilt was machine pieced by Ann Hussy and Nena Cunningham with a little help from Donna Barrett and machine appliquéd by Ann and Nena. The beautiful machine quilting was done by Marcia O’Donnell of Heart’n Home Quilting.
