Katie Doherty

Katie Doherty has been with the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce since 2015, beginning her tenure as Program Director before being promoted to President & CEO in February 2017. A graduate of Thomas College, Katie brought to the Chamber a strong background in business operations, management, and marketing, along with a deep passion for strengthening the Kennebec Valley’s business community.

As President & CEO, Katie oversees the full range of Chamber operations including strategic planning, membership development, programs, and regional economic initiatives. She works closely with the Chamber’s Board of Directors to advance long-term goals that support business growth, workforce development, and community vitality throughout the Capital region.

Under Katie’s leadership, the Chamber has expanded its programs and regional partnerships, helping elevate the Kennebec Valley as a destination for business, tourism, and community engagement. She played a key role in bringing the IRONMAN 70.3 Maine triathlon to Augusta, which has generated more than $11.7 million in economic impact for the region over the past three years, along with other signature programs and initiatives that highlight the area’s economic and cultural assets.

Katie is actively involved in leadership organizations at the regional and national level. She currently serves on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute Board of Regents and is involved with the New England Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Maine Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. She was recognized as a Mainebiz Next Up 40 Under 40 honoree in 2022, Maine State Chamber Professional of the Year in 2022, and a 2025 Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives 40 Under 40 honoree.

Katie is also a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management and most recently completed the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Fellowship for Talent Development in 2026.

Katie resides in South Gardiner with her husband Chris, their two children Scarlett and Grayson, and their dog Layla. When she’s not working to support the region’s business community, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking advantage of Maine’s beautiful summer months on the golf course.
