Recognition - This has been a very informative week. As many of you know, we are hosting a dinner for 800 of our closest friends Friday evening. This event has countless moving parts and details that are too numerous to mention.
I have been completely astounded at the ease and class that the chamber staff displays during the days working up to this great event. As I type, they are adjusting the seating chart, boxing programs and shuttling things to the Civic Center. As expected, Peter’s guidance has been priceless and is always appreciated.
This event is one of the most important things we do each year. It allows us all to recognize those in our community that are taking the extra step. Real life doesn’t give a “participant” ribbon to all of us each day. Real life is hard work. If a business wants to stand out and truly succeed in today’s world, there is much more to consider than the financial bottom line. It’s about community. The award recipients that we honor Friday have that figured out, and are not only active participants in making our region better, but they are leading the pack. They truly deserve the recognition they will receive at this event.
I would of course be remiss if I did not take a moment to thank my staff again for making this evening a smashing success. You have handled last minute changes and program adjustments like the professionals you are. Thanks.
