The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Augusta and Gardiner School Departments, transports over one hundred 7th graders from their respective schools on a day-long tour of different Chamber member businesses to expose the students to all the great businesses that are right HERE in the Kennebec Valley!

Our short-term goal is to spark an interest in a future career and to excite each student about what exists for them in our community. Our long-term goal is to develop our region’s workforce and economy of the future.

• Students will be exposed to a variety of jobs and workplaces
• Students will learn about educational opportunities to train for these jobs and hear the stories from people in these jobs
• Students will learn about the importance of "soft skills," such as showing up on time, working as a team member, and having a positive attitude
• The annual event will become a valuable part of their education and curriculum
• The program will eventually benefit area businesses and our economy by developing our future workforce
