Hoa Hoang, a Vietnamese American and Augusta Realtor, will speak about her immigrant experience to Maine. Her family were among the thousands of refugees who fled from Vietnam in 1975, during the collapse of Saigon at the end of the war. Hoang credits the excellent education she received through the English as a Second Language program in the Maine schools and her education at the University of Maine Augusta with providing the opportunity for her to start a business. “Assimilation into the culture occurs quickly when 97 percent of the community are Caucasians. It’s amazing for me to be here in Maine,” she said.
Please join us in welcoming Hoa Hoang and learn more of her amazing story and successful career here in Augusta.
