Maine Pond Hockey Classic Welcomes the Waterville Boys & Girls Club’s 24th Annual POLAR BEAR DIP at Snow Pond Center for the Arts in Sidney, Maine on Saturday February 11th at 10am

Maine Pond Hockey Classic: Being hosted by the 3-day Tournament gives our Saturday morning Dip a great Winter Festival atmosphere! Sixty teams in six divisions compete in the fun, fast-paced and fiercely competitive sport starting Friday night at 6pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday Finals from 9am -2pm. Chher on Dippers and teams from the on-ice Players’ Lounge, wioth food and beverages, ice candles and fire pits, blanketed benches and music. After dipping jump on the Community Free Skate Rink then commemorate the fun with some MPHC swag from our pop up NLC Ink Skate Shop in the Snow Pond Lodge!

Win a Samsung 55" Curved Screen UHDTV: Thanks to Mardens and Day's Jewelers prizes includ a new TV for the Dipper raising the most money, fine jewelry choices for Best Costume(s) and Most Fabulous Dip(s) and a plaque to display in the top earning Group's establishment! Everyone who dips enjoys free hot chocolate, coffee, yummy snacks and a surprise gift. Gearing up to compete are local restaurant teams from The Proper Pig, The Last Unicorn and last year’s winning team, Silver Street Tavern!

92 Moose’s Matt James is our emcee, DJ Chris Lothridge is providing the tunes to dive for, and Hannaford and T-Mobile are our generous Sponsors.

Great Fun for a Great Cause: All monies raised directly fund the Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA of Greater Waterville’s Kid’s Kitchen, which serves over 40,000 free, hot, nutritious meals and snacks annually to an average of 190 at risk children daily. Over 65% of these children say this is their last meal of the day. In addition, every weekend we send home a weekend’s worth of food to 70 families in need through the Weekend Meals Backpack program.

JOIN US: Don your costume, gather your team or dip alone, don’t forget all the pledges you’ve raised, and head on over to Snow Pond to take the plunge! Even if you don’t want to dip you can raise funds for the cause and cheer on your crazier cohorts.
