On May 12, Big Entertainment Live (Big E) featuring The Hopefuls, will perform at the Winkin Auditorium located in Lunder Hall on the Maine Children's Home campus to benefit The Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers Teen Parent School Program. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Big E & The Hopefuls are a group of area musicians with ages ranging from 10 years old to 60+. They originally started out about five years ago as a bunch of Steve Fotter's (local musician and guitar teacher) students that got together on Sunday evenings to play music and enjoy each other's company. Big E & The Hopefuls have done many benefit concerts including annual events for Operation Hope, an organization that helps recovering opioid addicts find treatment. They have raised over $10,000 for various community projects through their live concerts. Eric Lunt, lead vocalist, says "we are not just a band, we are a group of musicians who perform to help our community."

The Sharon Abrams Teen Parent School Program at The Maine Children’s Home is an alternative high school program for pregnant and parenting teens. This school program has been in existence since 1974. Open to pregnant and parenting teens statewide, it provides prenatal and parenting instruction along with academic and life skills courses. All students are registered as Waterville High School students and work toward earning a regular Waterville High School diploma.

Attendees of the concert will hear a wide mix of acoustic songs ranging from rock & roll, some country, and a bit of the blues. There will also be some jokes, some tender moments, and a great expression of the community that is in Central Maine. The Friends of The Maine Children’s Home are providing homemade baked goods for concert goers to enjoy and a 50/50 drawing.

Tickets for the concert are $10 and are on sale now by calling (207) 872-0261 or contacting Kelly at .
