The Bookey Readings at the Harlow opens their 2018 poetry series on Friday, April 13th at 7pm featuring high school students from two area schools, Winthrop and MSAD11 (Gardiner, W Gardiner, S. Gardiner, Randolph and Pittston). With the help of teachers Christine O'Brian of Winthrop and Rie Kittredge of MSAD11, students will perform poetry used both in the recent Poetry Out Loud competitions as well as their own poetry written in high school creative writing classes. Music will be part of the evening as well with guitarist, singer Patrick Shepard; a talented, well known performer in Central Maine. The public is invited to support the community's young poets and enjoy a fun and lively evening of spoken word and music.

The Harlow is located at 100 Water Street, Hallowell, their new location (the large red building on the right at the very end of the street as you head to Augusta.) Refreshments are served, and a $3 donation to benefit The Harlow is appreciated at the door.  For more information about the this event, contact Claire Hersom at .
